INFORMATIONS

"To the preciousness of jewellery, Lydia Boduch has chosen through her medium, its banality. And yet, the modelled pieces borrowed from nature refer to animism

and shamanism. This gives them their uniqueness

and sensitivity"

Lydia Boduch - LY-BO - creates jewellery and grigris. These are unique pieces, born of the free and spontaneous inspiration of the designer. Making a grigri, a piece of jewellery, isn't just about decoration, it's not just about making a necklace, for example. It's about creating and combining elements, both natural and symbolic, around which a scene, a story, is ‘woven’ as you go along. Making symbolic objects requires handling: kneading, shaping, marking with fingerprints, cutting, tracing, drilling, baking, sanding and so on. These gestures are slow, simple and unchanging. Shaped objects, pearls, brass pendants... all materials chosen and created with sensitivity and balance, forming fragments of an imaginary story, to be enriched by each individual with their own stories.... Each piece of LY-BO jewellery is like an original cord, an ancestral and universal reminder. Lydia Boduch is particularly interested in primitive symbols and the role played by objects, costumes and ornaments among the first doctors and shamans. Through her jewellery, LY-BO proposes evocations, not invocations: imaginative and sensory evocations. Objects of intimacy and depth, they bear witness to authentic reflection.

All my jewelry is handcrafted in my studio. Inspired by traditional craftsmanship, the rites of ancient peoples and borrowing organic forms from nature, I carefully mould and design each piece. Worn around the neck or hanging from the ears, they are kind of grigris. I hope they will be unique companions for you.
